What’s in a We See You Sibling Package?
When a child is in the CICU, so much of the family’s attention naturally goes toward the child who is sick. There are doctors, nurses, procedures, updates and a million decisions to make.
And somewhere nearby, there may be a sibling trying to understand why everything suddenly feels different.
We See You Sibling Packages were created just for them.
Each package is filled with age-appropriate activities, fun surprises and little things that remind siblings that they matter, too. These aren’t distractions from what their family is going through — they’re a small way of making sure they have something that belongs to them.
What’s Inside?
Every package is a little different depending on the child but may include:
- 🎨 Creative activities and crafts
- 🧩 Games, puzzles and activities
- 📚 Books and reading activities
- 💖 Comfort items
- 🎉 Snacks
We also do our best to choose items that fit the child’s age and personality because a five-year-old and a fifteen-year-old probably aren’t going to be equally thrilled about the same coloring book.
How You Can Get Involved
- Request a We See You Sibling Package. They may not be the ones in the hospital bed, but they’re still experiencing the uncertainty, disrupted routines and worry that comes with having a brother or sister in the CICU. Sometimes being seen is as simple as having something that was chosen just for you.
- Shop Our Wish List. Send something from our wishlist and help us keep the packages full of support, comfort and fun for heart siblings.
- Send a Monetary Donation. Prefer to give? A monetary donation helps us purchase the supplies we need most and keep We See You packs available to families.
